Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - an Canadian and American musician and singer. She's released over 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as alternative rock, folk rock, but it also has hints of hip-hop and jazz. Ani diFranco was the first artist to launch her own label in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco was a born on the 23rd of September 1970, in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Dante Americo DiFranco. Her mother is from Montreal and her father has Italian descent. Ani DiFranco wrote and sang 32 Flavors. It is a track from her album Not a Pretty Girl, that was her sixth studio release. This track appears on the film's soundtrack the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was announced that she would be hosting the three-day workshop on a Louisiana plantation for slaves. The event was later cancelled but she didn't show any regret. DiFranco released an apology just a few weeks later. Little Folksinger is a singer who has performed with musicians ranging from Pete Seeger, Chuck D and Prince. She lives in New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is a punk/folk musician and songwriter who was just 25 when she debuted her seventh album Not A Pretty Girl and enjoyed even greater popularity in the world of public opinion with Dilate.
